KTB 10 years of Community Effort.

Did you know that within one year of introducing 103 cane toads into Australia in 1935, the population exceeded over 40,000? Or that they can swim in clear, brackish or even salt water, can survive in arid Australian conditions with only cow dung to assist their invasive tendencies, and can even climb the high cliff tops of the Kimberley region in Western Australia? Were you aware that they were introduced to eradicate two beetle species that were impacting on the sugar plantations in Queensland, but were unsuccessful because they could not fly and the beetles could! How about the fact that they are toxic in all life stages from eggs to adults!
